Thank you, Brenda. We are finally getting some birds at the feeders. The weather has been so warm and nice, they just didn’t bother coming before this week.
I love being outdoors to hear the early morning sounds. Lots of times, coyotes, more often, though, crows and turkeys.
I know you are a fire fighter. Have you ever heard the coyotes sing along with the truck siren? I was very nice a pack down in the woods last year when the truck went out on a call.
Wow, I never thought of that. I heard the Amtrac train leave Portland yesterday, but was not listening for the coyotes. I am going to pay attention next time.
Ethel goes out soon after sunup to fill the bird feeders summer, fall, winter, and spring, and since this is New Mexico, and we live on the edge of the wilderness of the Zuni Mountains, here, like in Maine, we sometimes here a wild, haunting howl. A wonderful poem.
How beautiful. Sandy.
Merry Christmas.
Brenda

Beautiful sunrise, Sandy! That howl sounds interesting! A couple nights ago we had a coyote serenade here too.

I have not while on a call (too much stuff going on), but I have many times at a distance. Also I’ve heard them sing along with a train whistle.

Thanks! And , how was your Christmas Day?
This is a wonderful picture. I am sure I was sound asleep and missing the beauty out there!
Well, if it was after nine at night, that would be me, too. Mornings, though, are my best time.
We are definitely on different schedules, Sandy! LOL.

Thanks Juliet. We seem to have our finest skies in the winter.
Hi Sandy
Wow. You can say so much with so little.
Happy New Year.
Guy
Happy New Year to your and your wife, too.
Thank you, but I am still very new at haiku. It is fun to practice, though.
Finally catching up here! This is so lovely–golden sky, thin sliver of a crescent moon, and a chimney, which speaks of wamth inside…
And, I am catching up on replies!
The was one of those “moments” that had to be recorded.

Thanks, so much, Thomas. I find early morning the most inspiring time of the day. Most of my poems and photo start there.
