Oh, my, I hate that when that happens! Love your little poem about it, though and the one photo you got is really beautiful though. The other day I forgot to put my memory card in my camera before I left the house–and didn’t realize it until it was really too late to turn around and come back. So fustrating when that or dead batteries happen.
There is not a lot of work to this filter, Barb. If you have PhotoShop Elements, just pull the filters, and run the sliders until you are happy with the look.
Of all the wild birds, they seem to interact with people the most. I often sing with them, and they often look over my shoulder to see what I am doing.
It was, Brenda. I should have stood there and enjoyed them instead of concentrating of getting photos. But of course, I didn’t think of that until later.
That photograph looks like a painting, Sandy! Beautiful. I love chickadees – they’re so friendly and happy. Beautiful words, too. Sounds like a perfect morning walk.
Thank you, Bill. The birds are just now starting to come into the feeders. I guess they have had enough to eat up til now. The juncos are here now, too, the first I have seen this year.
I love the artful treatment of the picture. It feels like the silver color really adds to the feeling of the frosty morning. And, then what a lucky find, the Chickadee instead of the sunrise… In this case a lovely trade!
I have to say this is my very favorite. I think it is the monochromatic feel even though it isn’t really monochromatic. This would make a lovely notepaper picture.
I was headed for the best spot to see the sunrise. Then I saw a huge flock of chickadees fly in.
Here is is how it really was–
the flutter of wings
as I passed the apple tree~
my battery dies!
a speedy trip back indoors-
another dead battery!
The photo was a bit dark so I put it through the accented edges filter in PSE 9.

I was able to snap two photos before the the first battery died. At least I was home when it happened this time.
The flock of chickadees was much larger than I usually see around the feeders.
This looks like a stained glass window – chick-a-beauty!
I like this filter for certain things. It did really well with the tree limbs.
The fading effect is awesome. I need you to tutor me!

My favorite bird! I like the effect: it has a frosty look to it.
The background does look a bit icy. I did another with brown tones, you can see it on my flickr site. I think I like that one better.
Cute little chickadee! They are so fun to watch.

I love the way you have work shopped this picture, Sandy. Accompanying poem is spot on…
Thank you! You can never tell out an altered photo is going to turn out. I usually only fiddle with less than stellar shots, so there is no loss.
beautiful poem and photo
Thanks so much. I can always find words to match up with these little guys.
Love it. The photo finally does justice to an awesome bird. Thx.
You are welcome! Thanks for stopping in.
How wonderful to see such a flock of chickadees! Like magic!
Your photo is wonderful, too!

It was, Talon. Actually, I was also out at five AM shooting the moon, so the early was perfect.
What can I say? Wonderful!

I whistled what to say, your combos take my breath away, atta girl Sandy
Thanks! Are you a morning person??
I really love the effect here. It’s a very pretty image.

Thank you for sharing your world view!

Must have been a wonderful morning walk as it was captured beautifully here with your words and poem!
I love chickadees!

I will probably use it on a folded card. This kind of work prints well on parchment paper.
Looks to me that you were meant to pay attention to chickadees. Humorous poem all too real inside the continual turbulence of life.
nicely said, i live this one in it’s simplicity!
Thanks!
