The trail to the woods goes right past the feeder tree. Most days I greet the sunrise from somewhere along that trail. You are right, those days are always better.
Just gorgeous, Sandy. What a glorious shot. Isn’t the snow the most amazing blanket? It quiets everything down and makes us so much more aware of our steps, doesn’t it?
This is very pretty, I always love the look of the sky at dawn and twilight !
It looks like the perfect time for a walk, indeed.
I’m glad for the snow, as well – it brightens up the night so well.
Your poem is beautiful, Sandy as well.
(I thought Haiga was the poem, but looked it up, to learn that Haiga is the picture which goes with the haiku, and how interesting. Now I think I understand more of what you are about here. I see that the picture may or may not always be a match for the words.I think this is a great art form!)
Brenda
Brenda, I used to put my text right on the photo, but I think I like the presentation better this way. Haiku does not need photos at all, but you know me, I love photography!
There is something very special about the in between times. I think a lot of people feel it.
For here, it was quite a dump LOL but it’s already melting. There goes my plan to take some pics tomorrow. Back to grey and brown real soon. I miss lots of snow!!! And the kind that lasts a while.
Both the poem and the photo are lovely. I often marvel at the colours of a dawn sky but I rarely manage to capture it. More skill and practice needed I guess.
You have such wonderful, serene dawns – how can a day not go well?

Very pretty! It has been a long time since we’ve had that kind of morning sky here.
We get the glow more often than not. The open sea is not far off, in that direction. I wonder if that has anything to do with the look of the sky?
A picture postcard!. Wonderful!
Thanks! I enjoy it.

That is so true, Talon. What could be better than quiet time taken in this kind of setting?
When I took this shot, the road in front of the house was still snow covered, so even the occasional early morning traffic was muffled by the white.

Very very peaceful. What a lovely scene you paint with your photo and words.
Thanks, Christine. There is a lot to be said for living in a rural area. My morning ritual is very grounding for me, and starts my day off right.
Hey, do you have power? I have been hearing so much about the weather out there.
We are having a gentle snow day here. Snow all day, and one inch on the ground!
Beautiful, peaceful and dreamy. I love it.
And, it truly is!
this speaks deeply within–
Thanks so much for the nice words, and for stopping in.
Lovely – and I like faint sliver of moon showing through the branches!
Yes, I spotted it out the window when I got up. Of course, I had to get it in the shot.
this is very serene and beautiful Sandy. we have a blanket of white here too and still more on the way.
I thought of you when I heard about the huge storms out that way. Is the coming snow as bad as this week’s was?
For here, it was quite a dump LOL but it’s already melting. There goes my plan to take some pics tomorrow. Back to grey and brown real soon. I miss lots of snow!!! And the kind that lasts a while.
Happy Week Sandy, G
You too, Geraldine.
Utterly gorgeous!
Thanks, Fiona. We have been having some really pretty mornings.
A very atmospheric haiga, Sandy. I like it a lot…
Thank you, Frank.
And a last quarter moon too, superb!
Thanks, Robert.
Very peaceful photo…and lovely words to go along with it.
Thanks Kateri, early morning is my quiet time.
Hi Sandy
Both the poem and the photo are lovely. I often marvel at the colours of a dawn sky but I rarely manage to capture it. More skill and practice needed I guess.
Well you have inspired me to try.
Thanks
Guy
Maybe, but try using the auto setting on your camera to see how that works. I shoot all different ways. Sometimes with my tiny Coolpix.
lovely and serene
… and yet, the stars remain to fill tomorrow’s darkness.
Lovely photo/haiku, Sandy. _m
Aren’t we lucky to view such scenes? Lovely!
Just beautiful, Sandy.
so beautiful
“Sky of fading stars”–I really like that, wish I’d written it myself, Sandy!!
Beautiful!
